The Book of Nature …

… To the eye of the seer every leaf of the tree is a page of the holy book that contains divine revelation, and s/he is inspired every moment of life by constantly reading and understanding the holy script of nature.
When the human writes, s/he inscribes characters upon rock, leaf, paper, wood, or steel. When God writes, the characters God writes are living creatures.
The Bitterroot Valley
My wife, Johara, and I live in the Bitterroot Valley located in southwestern Montana, along the Bitterroot River between the Bitterroot Range and Sapphire Mountains, in the Northwestern United States. The valley was the ancestral home of the Salish tribe of the Flathead nation. Daily we wake in awe of the beauty of this place with its pristine and natural wonder.
Living lightly
We live in a passive-solar strawbale house and grow most of our own vegetables and fruit, using winter cold houses, and eat locally for the rest. Sustainability is on our radar and we look for ways of living that are light on the earth.
Gift of Life
The fruits of spiritual inquiry and practice – which include humility, effacement and wisdom – are applied in the choices we make about how we live. Living simply, close to the land, food, water, and the fecundity of nature, seems the most loving and natural response to the gift of life.
